News: Derby score twice in CEMRIAC Autumn Festival

16th November 2008

Derby Movie Makers are celebrating after winning two awards at this years CEMRIAC Autumn Festival. 'Sex, Lives and Videotape' was awarded second place in the Inter-Clubs Competition, and club member Geof Caudwell scooped first place in the 60-second competition with his entry, 'The Shoemaker'. Congratulations go to Wulfrun Camcorder club for their winning Inter-Clubs Competition entry, 'The Case for the Prosecution'.

Derby's success rounded off a very enjoyable festival that comprised 15 entries from 10 clubs across the region in the Inter-Clubs competition, and 18 entries in the 60-second competition.

The Inter-Clubs competition was this year judged by Eric and Brenda Granshaw, and their invaluable experience and thoughtful comments were well received. The 60-second competition was once again judged by the well-entertained audience.

The event this year was ably hosted by Nuneaton Moviemakers at the Priory Theatre, Kenilworth, and Derby Movie Makers wish to thank them for organising the event so well. Next year it will be Derby's turn to host the festival - let's hope they can make it just as much of a success.
